High-quality antivirus protection for both Premium and free users. Easy-to-operate antivirus. Trustworthy security recommendations in easy-to-understand language. Good compatibility with the Windows 10 operating system intuitive user interface that is easy to use. I had only a positive experience with this software. Low CPU Background usage.

I love Malwarebytes but for what reason? Well not only may it show where data is leaked but also shows you on what was trying to attack you with their real time protection! Overall I give it a 7.7/10 on the AV scale its almost near perfection! Only thing I do suggest to improve the rating is to add something such as a assistant(artificial intelligence) just incase the support team may not be reached.

My Windows 11 systems works without any problems.
The only problem I face is that the Google Chrome browser each time when opening copies all pinned websites and opens them. Hence, each time wh
en opening this browser I have a row of pinned websites and a row of the same websites but opened. Hence, each time I have to close all these opened websites.
As I can't find the culprit by searching online I installed Malwarebytes in the hope it can dismantle the problem.
Indeed, Malwarebytes put many 'infected' files in quarantine but to the level I couldn't internet with my Chrome browser anymore. But the internet connection worked fine as radio apps and other apps that need internet worked fine.
I used 'System Restore' from Windows 11 to restore my system but couldn't due to Malwarebytes which prevented restoring my 'infected' files.
After recovering all files from quarantine and removing Malwarebytes the Chrome browser and Windows 11 works fine again.
Hence, Malwarebytes might removing infected files but it also removes many files which aren't infected or are even important files without Windows 11 or your internet browser won't run.
Just use Windows Defender which is a default part of Windows. That's all you need!

Too many false positives make Windows 11 unworkable.

Unethical hiring practices

I recently went through the hiring process with Malwarebytes, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn other job seekers.

As part of their evaluation, I was required to complete a home assignment that involved multiple hours of work and submit an open Figma file, essentially handing over my designs without protection. After completing the task and investing my time and effort, I was rejected with vague, generic feedback—ironically, the same way they described my work.

This raises serious ethical concerns. It appears that Malwarebytes may be using the hiring process to collect free labor and ideas from candidates without any intention of hiring them. If a company truly values talent, they should compensate candidates for substantial work assignments or, at the very least, provide detailed, meaningful feedback that justifies their decision.

Job seekers, be cautious when applying here. If you’re asked to do unpaid work beyond a reasonable assessment, think twice before proceeding. Companies that exploit candidates' time and expertise should be held accountable.

Malwarebytes subscription dilution

Malwarebytes was a great PC security/ browser guard and I've had it on my PC and phone for quite a few years now, however, they seem to be going the same way as all subscription software by watering down your subscription or creating something you never needed before, but now cant do without, pre their update my browser security rating was 100% according to them but now with the update I'm only 96% safe and need to upgrade my subscription to achieve my usual 100%, I'm expecting my score to go down even further as time goes on to force me into upgrading if I want to be safe online, I have just been through all this with my TV subscriptions, the likes of Netflix and Paramount who forced ads on my subscription or pay more not to have ads, I cancelled all of them, Sky will be the next to go as they've been watering down my subscription for years, however back to Malwarebytes, I paid for my 2-year subscription before they started doing this and am hoping they don't force ads on me mid subscription like the others but either way i won't be renewing my subscription in a years time when it finishes

DO NOT TRUST

I cancelled my renewal, and they are repeatedly trying to take the subscription fee from my account. It is a separate account I have, so I am able to ensure that there is no money for them to take, but they try every single day to take money on a CANCELLED subscription.

Imagine that, I am being spammed, bothered and what feels like SCAMMED by a service that is supposed to protect me.

SHADY- UNAUTHORIZED CC CHARGES!

SHADY- UNAUTHORIZED CC CHARGES!!! BEWARE On 12/30/24 Malwarebytes offered a New Year’s special, Upgrade with 1/2 price on Ultimate Plan. I had 2 months left on the Standard Plan (42.99 for the entire yr). I upgraded, gave my CC # and received a confirmation. Since 12/30/24 thru to 3/1/2025 My CC has been charged $560.00. I chatted with BOTS, I chatted with live help, and I sent emails = WITHOUT SUCCESS. I insisted on talking with a Supervisor. A few hours afterwards, I received a call. Before I answered I noticed a “KNOWN SCAMMER” alert and the call indicated it was from Malwarebytes. Called my Bank and filed a claim. Cancelled CC and initiated an investigation. Bank credited my CC the entire amount. Silly me, I thought I was being protected from SCAMMERS.

perfect customer service

I bought a key from a reseller a year ago which was a lifetime subscription. I couldnt get to activate the key again after formatting my computer. They helped me fix the issue after contacting customer support. They couldnt fix the issue at that point in time, but within one day they helped me fix the issue after promising they would contact me again through e-mail. 5/5 perfect customer service.

Stops me & my family being low hanging fruit

Having completed a postgraduate diploma in Computer forensics and security I was convinced that this was the best option for me and my family. Coupled with the VPN integration and Multi-platform support I feel as safe as I could be, which to be honest is not that safe, but stops me being low hanging fruit.

Terrible User Experience

Terrible User Experience
-The real-time "protection" has so many false positives it's entirely unusable.
-RT detections have no allow option.
-ZERO useful options in right-click menus.
-The detection history is useless, with no way to white-list false positives.
-Adding a previous detection to the allow list shows an empty screen 100% of the time.
-Allow list doesn't allow URL wildcards.
-Information is often truncated, and prioritizes the least important information (4-digit year etc.)
-If you want to report basic bugs/false positives, instead of providing support they require using some ridiculous program that hoovers up hundreds of mb of logs, with detailed information you might not want to share.

I could go on for days (and they only ever make things worse)...

If you never look at the UI, and just use it for basic malware/virus protection it does a decent job, but you don't need to pay them for that.

Great Online Protection

We are very pleased with Malwarebytes, we have a subscription on all our Devices. Very pleased to be safe online and the Digital Footprint Scanner is really interesting and showed some of our old email addresses on Hacker Databases. Thanks 😊

Avoid due to shady anti-customer policies

The software itself is okay, although I've had issues with a) the number of exceptions causing it to suddenly not want to work on Chrome (even after removing exceptions), and b) the VPN sometimes not working.

That being said, their refund "policy" is shady as hell. I got hit with a 59.99 charge for the autosubscription when I wasn't expecting it, and had planned to cancel at least for a bit due to having some unexpected charges recently. This was admittedly at least partly my fault, due to apparently putting it into my calendar a bit later than I should have when they sent the month-in-advance warning of the renewal.

So shouldn't be a huge issue, right? I saw the re-subscription, and figure I can just get it canceled, would rather not either of us have to have the bother but it's easily taken care of.

Well, for a 59.99 fee, their "policy" is apparently a "pro-rated" refund of 29.99 (that is NOT how pro-rating works, folks), but as a "courtesy" they could do 44.99 as a refund this time. Which was a 15 dollar charge basically for canceling on the same day it went through.

After protesting and dropping the mention of disputing the charge, they went back and got the "absolute maximum" refund of 50.99, which means I'm out 9 bucks just for being late on the cancellation, which is absurd.

Now I not only have the canceled policy, but I'm definitely not going back to them in the future. Hope their big company enjoys the nine bucks to clawed from me, as an individual.
